Who introduced you to fly fishing?
Can you tell us a little about your home waters and the fish you pursue there?
Gaspé Peninsula, specifically the Little Cascapedia, Grande Cascapedia and Bonaventure Rivers for Atlantic salmon
What's the height of the season for you? What time of year is your personal favorite?
I prefer the end of July and beginning of Aug., for the sight fishing with dry flies although any time on the river is a good time.
What are your favorite travel destinations? What's on the bucket list?
I thought sight fishing for bones and tarpon was great, very similar to Atlantics....have to remind myself to strip strike though.
What you like most about Thomas and Thomas rods? Which rods do you fish?
I really like the versatility of the 11'6" switch and lately I've been enjoying the horizon, great speed short backcasts providing long dry fly casts with a one and done feel.
What's your current go-to fly?
meh, depends on the water conditions, light, temps...too many to choose. I like hitching flies so a moose hair blue charm right now I guess.
Other than fly tackle, what piece of gear do you find indispensable?
My favorite thing about guiding is:
running a canoe down the river in the dark
From the angler’s point of view, what do you see as the main value of going on a guided trip?
Time, a guide saves an angler a lot of time figuring different beats...and an extra set of eyes is always good.
What can new fisherman expect to get out of a guided trip? My favorite thing to teach a client is ...
How to cast. Get them in the game as soon as possible.
What's your ideal lunch when on the water? What do you actually pack?
fresh sea run brookie over the fire
What fly fishing blogs/magazines do you read regularly?
Atlantic Salmon Journal, recently was introduced to The Drake...don't really read much mags
When I'm not fishing you'll find me:
in Fredericton with my wife and kids
